Kinnaur Valley Trip

Kinnaur Valley-Amazing trip of alifetime........
kinnaur valley in himanchal pradesh falls in the northeast of himanchal pradesh.Kinnaur valley is surrounded by three might himalyan ranges,Great Himalyas, zanskar,Dhauladhar.

Day01-I started my journey towards Kinnaur valley,it started unfolding its mysteries and the beauty of kinnaur.
I started my journey from Delhi to Shimla(10 hrs approx.)by Volvo bus.
Reached shimla by early morning and we hired a taxi and headed towards Sarahan, well known for Bhima Kali Temple.
I was thrilled to see apple orchids on both sides of the roads with the gentle breeze creating music to my ear.
while passing Naldhera, i saw man selling fresh Cherries direct from the farm on the roadside. We stopped the car near the cherry seller and asked for cherries, there were three kind of cherries  infront of us.The chery seller said that the black cherry is of good quality and the red and the pink ones are not so good in sweetness. But the black ones are sold for Rs300/- kg to Rs400/- kg.
We bought black cherries at Rs150/-kg after much bargaining and then headed towards Sarahan. At 5Pm we reached Sarahan.
There are two to three good hotels around but we took the hotel nearest to Bhima Kali Temple. One can stay in a Temple Guest house also. The rooms are neat & clean and temple canteen is also in there. After taking a rest at the hotel we decided to visit bhimakali temple.I was stunned to see the architecture of temple.
It was all wooden, but the artistic work on wood was extraordinary. This is the link (http://bhimakali.nic.in/legends.htm) where one can read the story behind establishing of this temple.

Day 02:-At 0900am in the morning, after doing the darshan again, we headed towards our next beautiful destination Sangla.
There were local buses which run from Sarahan to Sangla and takes around 4 to 5 hours to reach Sangla.Since we had cab with us we reached earlier than we thought. While travelling towards Sangla, the views are mesmerizing, though the roads are not in a good condition because of landslide which is very common in that area.

After reaching Sangla, you feel a sense of satisfaction and peace. There is no much population in Sangla,i could see more foreigners and  Bengali es tahn local residents.
The local residents do not interact with strangers ,they are simple and good at heart people. The people of this region are happy with whatever thay have.People of Sangla have apple orchid and is their major source of income.
Stay can never be a problem here as the hotels are in abundance here but before coming one must confirm because during season time this place is full of tourist from around the world. There are  Goverment run Guest Houses but the booking is done prior from Shimla Head Office.Room Rates Ranges from Rs1200 Per Room to Rs3000/- Per Room, Meals Extra.
But June and July is the time when one must visit Sangla.

Day03:- Some local residents suggested us to give a visit to Chitkul another small and last village on the Indo-Tibet Border. We started early in the morning at 0800am  for Chitkul as we also had to drive to Kalpa which would take another 5 hrs of driving.

Again it was a beautiful experience driving through the lush green pine trees and the terrain so different i had never seen.
When we arrived at chitkul, there was a hotel just outside the village, the hotel attendant told us that there was a snowfall yesterday night. The sun was so clear and bright. The local people were busy doing their daily chores in the morning. Their wooden houses were very old yet very strong.
I could see many tourists there which i never thought would be interested in such places where reaching itself  is a big thing.
But this place is worth a visit.
